Class Act Charter School
Class Act Charter School
THE CLASS ACT CHARTER SCHOOL IS MOVING TO THE PARK FALLS CAMPUS BEGINNING IN THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR!
The Class ACT Charter School is open to all high school students. Self-motivated students who learn best through project-based work, would like more control of their learning experiences, and desire to learn more about global economy and the skills necessary to compete in the 21st century may choose this option to earn high school credits that lead to a high school diploma.
Charter school students have the same credit requirements as those in the Chequamegon High School and must meet the same state standards. Graduation credits are earned through projects, regular classes, on-line classes, interactive television classes, community service and work programs. Charter school students are included in the Chequamegon High School class rank and are eligible for all awards and scholarships. They also may participate in all extra-curricular activities offered by the Chequamegon School District.
Each student in the charter school designs a personalized learning plan with the help of their advisor. They also develop a portfolio which showcases important projects, research, and work samples. The student will experience a very vigorous curriculum but will also enjoy more flexibility in their program. The program is student-centered and career-oriented. Use of technology is a major part of the program. Community service projects and community work programs will also be developed.
The charter school is housed in the Glidden Campus. The Class ACT Charter School is part of the Chequamegon School District and follows all of the policies and procedures of the district. If you would like more information about the charter school as an option for high school, call the Glidden Campus to set up an appointment to meet with charter school staff.
