The core business of the Chequamegon School District is to provide high quality educational experiences to the children in our communities. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the District faced numerous challenges to sustain that core business. However, with a well designed plan and effective communications, the District was able to successfully navigate the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and meet the educational needs of our students. At the conclusion of the 2020-2021 school year, District staff, in consultation with the Price County Health Department, compiled information for future planning. On July 28 the following CSD team members reconvened to update and revise the District’s Health and Wellness Guidelines to ensure high quality educational programming will be delivered throughout the 2021-2022 school year. The CSD team’s plan was presented to the Chequamegon School Board on August 3, 2021.
Update: Chequamegon to place Mask-Optional policy on district buses starting March 1st
Per the updated CDC guidelines released February 25, 2022, the "CDC does not require wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs." Therefore, effective Tuesday, March 1st, masks will be optional in all Chequamegon School District vehicles and buses.
