Chequamegon Middle School Exceeds Expectations on Wisconsin School Report Card

The Wisconsin School Report Card for state testing from the 2018-2019 school year has been released today, November 12, 2019.  The Chequamegon Middle School has scored an 81.8 ranking in the Exceeds Expectations category and missing the Significantly Exceeds Expectations category by only 1.2 points.

CMS was above the state average overall in Student Achievement with math being a significant area of strength.  The School Growth category was considerably over the state average with an 81.3 compared to the states 66.0. The Chequamegon Middle School also scored above the state average on Closing Gaps and On-Track and Postsecondary Readiness.

As the report cards weight various categories differently based on school enrollment information and demographics, a significant weight for Chequamegon Middle School was the school growth.  Growth is how well groups of students who normally struggle score when compared to their predicted scores.

The Glidden Elementary School does not receive a school report card due to small class size and 3rd grade being the only grade tested.  The Glidden Elementary School is monitored through an alternative assessment and was evaluated as showing “satisfactory progress”.
